Residential Manager (Children Services) - Cheshire East -Immediate Start - Starting Salary depending on exp - To £55,000 (rising to circa £70,000)



RHA Recruitment Solutions has been retained by an established Cheshire East based social care business who are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and resilient Residential Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our children’s residential care home.

The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and emotional support for children and young people aged up to 18yrs old, whom may have experienced trauma, neglect, or complex needs.


Ideally, you can demonstrate a strong background in residential settings, have leadership experience (possibly gained from different industries) and hold a Level 5 in Leadership and Management, or be willing to work towards.

This is an exciting time to join the team, as they are soon to open their second home.


Due to this continued growth, the position will see the successful candidate manage both homes, which are in close proximity to each other and in the Cheshire East region.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of the residential home facility

  • Ensure robust safeguarding practices are embedded across all aspects of care

  • Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with care plans

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to meet residents' needs

  • Promote positive behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches

  • Lead and support a team of residential practitioners

  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents

  • Oversee individual care plans, risk assessments, and placement goals in collaboration with social workers and families.

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided

  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies

  • Foster a warm, nurturing, and structured home environment where children feel safe, respected, and empowered.

  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of care and staffing.


Requirements:

  • To have held a Registered Manager with Children Services within the last five years

  • Hold a Level 5 in Leadership and Management or be willing to work towards

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within a residential setting

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively

  • Excellent understanding of care regulations and best practices

  • Ability to develop and implement person-centred care plans

  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Enhanced DBS check (required prior to appointment)

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015)
